Upper Nile conducts criminal justice workshop
29 January 2013 - Aiming to strengthen criminal justice in Upper Nile, the state judiciary in coordination with 17³Ô¹ÏÍø held a two-day workshop in the state capital Malakal today.
Judges, prosecutors and law enforcement agents participated in the first day of the workshop, which sought to strengthen coordination between them and upgrade state law enforcement capacity.
Justice Charles Oyor, President of the Upper Nile State High Court, said the workshop would enable participants to identify challenges faced in their work, encouraging them to share their experiences.
Other senior officials attending the opening ceremony included State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement James Ruach Kun, representing Governor Simon Kun Pouch, and 17³Ô¹ÏÍø State Coordinator Deborah Schein.
