Juba, 21 October 2013 - The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (17³Ô¹ÏÍø) strongly condemns the deadly attacks that were perpetrated against civilians on Sunday, 20 October, in Twic East County, Jonglei State. The attacks resulted in high numbers of killed and wounded.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers united with local authorities, lecturers and students to clean-up the university in Wau, promoting a cleaner and safer environment for learning as well as building community togetherness and pride.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers and community members in Yambio launched a collective clean-up campaign, removing a mountain of garbage from the central city, that was not only threatening the environment but also the health and wellbeing of residents.
