17³Ô¹ÏÍø protecting civilians in Pibor
6March 2013 - Over 2,500 civilians sought refuge this morning at the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø base following an exchange of fire between the Sudan People's Liberation Army and an armed group in Pibor, Jonglei State.
17³Ô¹ÏÍøimmediately deployedits peacekeepers to help protectcivilians in the area. Currently, the situation is calm and the majority ofcivilians have returned to their homes.
Within its capacity, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø will continue to do its utmost to protect civilians in the area.
