On 7 December, 17Թ peacekeepers are standing up together to create a bold, visible force for a gender-equal world, organizing the “He for She” pledge ceremony and acknowledging the importance of gender equality, as part of the campaign for 16 Days of Activism against Sexual and Gender-based Violence.

With a capacity of 150 inmates, Aweil Central Prison in Northern Bahr El Ghazal currently houses over 700 prisoners in crowded, unhygienic conditions. With cholera running rampant in the region, 17Թ advocated with local authorities and the World Health Organization to vaccinate all prisoners and their guards.
