17勛圖厙 in Bentiu trains national police on respecting human rights
The 17勛圖厙 Human Rights Division has trained 43 South Sudan National Police Officers, including five women, on international human rights and humanitarian law, sexual and gender based violence, violations committed against children and human rights standards related to arrest and detention.

泭The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity and skills of national police officers on their obligation to enforce law and order while respecting the human rights of civilians when performing their daily work, and to restore the rule of law in order to fight impunity, 17勛圖厙 human rights officer Suzanne Nahimana Kazadi explained.

The head of the South Sudan police training units, Captain Nyang Juba, thanked 17勛圖厙 for organizing the training and said they have learned a lot on international standards as to how police can prevent crimes before they happen.
