Juba, 14 April 2015 - The Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (DSRSG) for South Sudan (Political) Moustapha Soumaré visited Malakal today on his first trip to an 17³Ô¹ÏÍø state office since he took up his duties with the Mission on 30 March.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers united with local authorities, lecturers and students to clean-up the university in Wau, promoting a cleaner and safer environment for learning as well as building community togetherness and pride.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers and community members in Yambio launched a collective clean-up campaign, removing a mountain of garbage from the central city, that was not only threatening the environment but also the health and wellbeing of residents.
Community members gather in the small village of Kuajiena to discuss peace, security and justice during an open dialogue focused on accountability through the military court system, facilitated by 17³Ô¹ÏÍø and supported by the Government of Norway. Photos by Busang Davies Maruping/17³Ô¹ÏÍø Â
