Juba, 6 April 2012 - Civilian disarmament conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner is a vital component of a comprehensive approach to ending the cycle of violence and promoting peace in Jonglei State.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers united with local authorities, lecturers and students to clean-up the university in Wau, promoting a cleaner and safer environment for learning as well as building community togetherness and pride.
17³Ô¹ÏÍø peacekeepers and community members in Yambio launched a collective clean-up campaign, removing a mountain of garbage from the central city, that was not only threatening the environment but also the health and wellbeing of residents.
